I might be a little late saying this but congratulations to Judge Sonya Sotomayor who was confirmed by the United States Senate on August 6, 2009, by a vote of 68–31, and she was sworn in by Chief Justice John Roberts on August 8. Sotomayor is the Court's 111th justice, its first Hispanic justice, and its third female justice!!!!!Why is this a big deal you might ask and what do these judges do anyway? Well it's a huge deal to have a Latina Female so that she can share her point of view.
The duty of the Supreme Court is to interpret the law. The duties are to also say what is right and wrong . The Supreme Court is also the highest appellate court in the U.S. It's main functions are to interpret the Constitution and to examine every law passed whether federal or state and determine if said laws adhere to the Constitution of the United States.
So need I say more about how important her presence will be?
Now as far as makeup/hair goes, she adheres so far to a very conservative palette and seems to wear her hair naturally curly. I'd love to see her with her hair straight and some smokier eyeshadow- I don't know about all the gold she seems to wear all over her lids but as long as she is comfortable with her look-- I'm all over it! When are we going to see her on the cover of Latina???? Soon I hope!
