SweetAmbs - A (Scrumptious) Work of Art

I came across SweetAmbs shortly after starting Merci. Blown away by their intricately designed special occasion cookies, I was intent on partnering with owner-artist Amber Spiegel for an upcoming project. And I was even more excited to share her talent with our Merci New York readers.

Intricately hand-brushed flowers and swiss dots adorn this popular style.

The thing is, Amber is just tre-talented, so it's difficult to decide which of her many credentials to wax poetic about. Her impressive degree in Baking & Pastry from the Culinary Institute of America? Her inspiring acumen as a entrepreneurial business woman? Her artistic family's influence on her work?

Luckily, she helped sum it all up for me. "I've always thought of myself as more of an artist than a pastry cook, Amber said. "Decorating cookies allows me to combine my love of drawing and painting with my passion for food."

The above "Wedgewood" cookie is inspired by fine china and makes a darling bridal shower favor.
