Spring 2010 makeup up trends--Days 5/6

Here are the best looks from the last couple of days:

1- Rodarte:

East L.A. gang girls. Menacing condors. Maori tribeswomen. Makeup artist James Kaliardos rattled off all of these things at Rodarte yesterday, where he was attempting to create “the dark side of beauty.” With a charred black lip and a series of full-sleeve, half-sleeve, and neck tattoo designs courtesy of MAC senior artist Chantel Miller. Starting with a minimal base, Kaliardos dabbed concealer under models’ eyes and brushed a dark mauve shadow on their lids for contour. Keeping everything “simple and strong,” he skipped the mascara and blush, and focused his energies on the lips, where he filled in the middle with strokes of MAC Lip Pencil in Beet and then used an angled brush dipped into MAC Pro Lipmix in black to line the rest of the mouth.
These girls looked great on the runway-hard lip to pull off in person...
2- Zac Pozen:

Stéphane Marais (who is amazing talented and I worked with in the past) used loose white powder around the eyes, then added taupe shadow in crease. He used a mix of pink cream and powder blush heavily on the cheeks, and across the entire face. "I wanted her to have a flush, monochromatic, look—like she'd been dancing," he says.
I chose these two shots to show you the difference lighting can make on makeup.  The first one was taken backstage and the other on the catwalk.
3- Max Azria:

The models' skin at the Max Azria show was so flawless, it’s no surprise that models had been misted with foundation and champagne-hued highlighter from airbrush makeup brand Temptu. Lead artist Lisa Butler wanted the girls to look as fresh and natural as possible. Using the highlighter, she added light and sheer accents underneath the brow bone, around the sides of the eyes, top cheeks and lips with a touch of clear mascara to lift the eyebrows.
4- Narciso Rodriguez:

NARCISO RODRIGUEZ MAKEUP: All makeup by Shiseido. Page took a backwards approach to the makeup, slicking on makeup remover around the eyes before applying any makeup. He then lined them with Luminizing Satin Eye Color in tan Squirrel and dark taupe Cavern, letting the shadow react with the makeup remover for a slightly smudged sheen. That was it for eyes - again, no mascara! Page prepped lips with balm and patted Perfect Rouge Glowing Matte Lipstick in Whisper and Wink on top, for a nude effect with slight definition.

5-Brian Reyes:

MAKEUP: All makeup by Bobbi Brown. On cheeks, Brown used Beige or Bone Shimmer to highlight. Lips were stained with Lipstick in Red, and brows were sculpted with Natural Brow Shaper. Brown kept the eyes simple, using warm flesh tones on the lower lid, Creamy Eye Pencil in Jet, and Extreme Party Mascara on the lashes.
Lips seemed more orange than red but the stain look was nice- maybe a little too dry looking on some girls?
6- Michael Kors:
These are some "behind the scenes" shots that really show you the makeup.  Look at the application on the lid.  This type of makeup would work wonders on every single eyeshape! All makeup by Shiseido.  Dick Page did a wash of pearly pink Accentuating Color Stick in Glistening Flush all over the lids, and Accentuating Color Stick in Rosy Flush on the crease. He used a black pencil close to the lashline and on the inner rims. A spring preview color, Luminizing Satin Eye Color on Fondant (aqua blue) on the middle lid, and a pop of Amethyst shadow (which is available for a limited time right now at Bloomingdale's) around the outer edge of the eye. Lips got Perfect Rouge Tender Sheer in Pout, which is also a spring preview item.
Very pretty and went sooo well with the clothes!

7- Philosophy- Alberta Ferreti:

"The inspiration for the look is a little bit Sixties - but not a literal interpretation," said makeup artist Diane Kendal for MAC. "The clothing is young and short, so we wanted to reflect that and not make the models look too cute."The secret behind Kendal's muted face is simply toning it down with foundation so that the eyes become the focal point.
Girls look "coquettish" to me, such a great look for spring!  Pretty!!
All makeup by MAC. For this barely there look, even out skin with Face and Body Foundation and minimize shine with Blot Powder Pressed. Draw a thin line on top lid with Cremestick Liner in Black and coat top lashes with mascara. To complete, use fingers to apply Lipstick in Myth for a slightly nude and chalky finish.
8- Carolina Herrera:
This was a very nice lighter version of a classic face.  The eyeliner is really close to the lash line and the lips are luscious but not too dark.  A modern lady like look!
