J Mendel's Spring 2010 brilliance

According to the WSJ, Gilles Mendel was still putting the final touches on his collection while a crowd of "hedge fund wives and fashionista press" poured into a small West 26th Street gallery on Monday - and were completely blown away by his growing eveningwear and daywear categories.
I'm normally not a huge J Mendel fan because of his well-known foray into fur-overload {I learned this the hard way during a Bergdorf trunk show several years ago}, but these confectionery pieces are too divine to ignore as fabulous bridal and rehearsal dinner options.
