Wedding Inspiration | "Spanish Modern" Style in TriBeCa

Happy Wednesday, lovelies! We're beyond thrilled to share today's wedding inspiration, a fabulous stylized shoot that is equal parts gorgeous, sophisticated, New York focused, and packed with tres-talented NYC vendors. We just know you'll be lusting over all the bold and luscious details...
The photographer, Lauren Gabrielle, wanted to tackle a "Spanish Modern" theme, using Spanish fashion and architecture as the inspiration, but with a glam and modern twist. There are so many fresh interpretations of French style, but almost none of Spanish, so when Ara of Rock Paper Scissors Events submitted their shoot, we were instantly smitten. Take a peek...

From the team:
We knew we wanted a dramatic, glamorous and sophisticated feel, so we started with a lavender and red palette, and then added black and a hint of orange for a pop color. In order to add a bit of whimsy, we made huge paper flowers for the centerpieces and had just one knock-out arrangement made by Blossom and Branch for our escort card table display.
Mixing high and low, formal and casual elements, is a great way to add interest to your decor - and keep your budget in check! It is also a great idea to mix and layer textures on your tables to create a more dynamic look. So we had a delicate lace runner over our plain cotton tablecloth, silk napkins, paper flowers, wrought iron candle sticks and sleek black ghosts chairs from Taylor Creative.
We took our Spanish inspiration from the flow and shape of Flamenco dresses, gorgeous Spanish lace, the architecture of the Alhambra, and of course Flamenco fans. We interpreted this inspiration with the amazing Marchesa dress, the billowy, ruffly paper flowers, the lace runner, the amazing custom cake by Elegantly Iced with Flamenco ruffles, napkin "fans" and romantic calligraphy by Love Jenna.
We also love that the bride and groom in the shoot are actually a married couple {with two kids if you can believe it!} who were never happy with the pictures from their wedding day. Lauren is friends with the couple, so when she was looking for models for the shoot, they jumped at the chance to do their wedding pictures again and now they have the pictures that they always wanted! Such a great happy ending, right?
