This past week was filled with so many fabulous events, I'm buckling down at my desk for recaps galore... beginning with one of the best of the season.
Over the weekend, I attended the Wedding Party at the
Palace Hotel, hosted by
The Wedding Library and
Martha Stewart Weddings. The day began with
tres-informative presentations by Darcy Miller and
Colin Cowie, and continued with fantastic displays from many of New York City's top wedding vendors.

{Luckily, I'm not going subject you to my awful photography}... These gorgeous images come courtesy of the talented Jen Huang of
Jen Huang Photography. Above is an indulgent assortment of sweets from
One Girl Cookies {more on them later}...

And here is
Jen Huang's sweetly-styled booth, which showcased her work and aesthetic perfectly. I couldn't resist adding the little shot of her signage - it's such a testament to the attentive detail that pours out of her photographs! {And perhaps a darling little idea for a garden wedding}. Be sure to check out her photography, films and blog
here.

Though all rooms were filled with fabulous
talent, Anthony Luscia of
Martha Stewart Weddings also brought in an enclave of the magazine's favorite vendors, including famed Brooklyn bakeshop
One Girl Cookies {top image and detail above},
Sylvia Weinstock and
Matthew Robbins Design.
I admit to having a huge {design!} crush on Matthew, so it was such a treat to meet him and ogle over his gorgeous floral arrangements... Not only were they obscenely romantic and pretty, but they smelled
divine. Yes, that sounds silly, but as Colin Cowie noted that morning, good design involves engaging all the senses, and Matthew's work is truly transporting.

The morning before the show, I breakfasted at Balthazar with Cyd and Lindsy from
Smock Paper {and yes, I am a Balthazar junkie, so that detail
is important}. Anyway, I had the chance to chat with the ladies about their burgeoning stationery business and gorgeous letterpress designs before the show, which was quite nice. Their Syracuse-based company strikes the perfect balance: Small-town charm, big city style, and leading eco-conscious design.
Smock is available across every corner of Manhattan {i.e. the
Wedding Library - of course,
Kate's Paperie,
Judy Paulen Designs and
The Village Invites, just to name a few}, so if you haven't checked them out, you have no excuse -
go.
From floral, to sweets and details, to well, pinatas, I could go on about each and every booth, but we'd need hours... Be sure to visit
Stone Kelly Events & Floral,
For Your Party and
Confetti System for more on their wonderful work.
Many thanks for Claudia Hanlin and Jennifer Zabinski of
The Wedding Library for such an amazing showcase of the city's best. If you missed the event, be sure to stop by the Wedding Library's gorgeous Upper East Side
research boutique to relax, chat and peruse the portfolios of all the attendees. And of course, if you are a 2011 bride, there's always next year...
