The best makeup up looks from 2009!

- 1980's punk revival marked the return of makeup artist Francois Nars who headed the team at the Marc Jacobs show.  Even though unwearable as is it is nice to see how every model had a different look suited for her face shape.  Great way to learn how to wear eyeliner.

- Beautiful gold smoky eyes!   "The eye is still dramatic," says makeup artist Diane Kendal, who created the look at Carolina Herrera, "but the colors are softer." And at Dsquared2, makeup artist Val Garland blended a combination of gold shadows over M.A.C. Eye Kohl in Teddy ($14.50).

-Love, love, love this look!  Looks great on anyone.  I like to use a cream eyeshadow applied with the fingers.  Try Mary Kay's Eyesicles or Bobbi Brown's Metallic Long Wear Cream Shadow.  Takes no time and it looks amazing!!!  "For a natural-looking, wintry flush, we wanted the face to look windburned," says Shiseido Artistic Director Dick Page, who used sponges to blend blush from the apples toward the hairline backstage at Marc by Marc Jacobs for the look on the picture.

- Lips!  But they don't have to be just red- Dark brown, Berry and even chocolate brown can update your look.  Appearing at Giorgio Armani, Dolce & Gabbana, and Lanvin, to name a few. "Super intense lipstick is strong and pretty, but skip the eye makeup for a more funky, Debbie Harry-ish look," suggests makeup artist Bobbi Brown, who mixed purple lipstick with a black cream pigment at Rachel Roy but suggests a glossier, sheer dark lip for real life.

- Color!  always best when paired with a neutral liner like here at the Spring 2009 Gucci show.
