Monica Hirsch Flowers | Fab New York Finds Vol III

After the feat of designing an entire wedding, there's rarely a newlywed bride who doesn't cringe a bit when buying flowers for her upcoming dinner party. Given all her recent experience, she knows what beautiful arrangements look like, but has no clue how to do it herself...

Enter today's Fab New York Find. The lovely Monica Hirsch Flowers, a luxury floral design boutique in midtown Manhattan, offers a brilliant twist on traditional services- beautiful arrangements for delivery, chic collaborations with wedding leaders such as Ceci New York, and open floral design classes for adults {read: past brides!} looking to test their knowledge on creating beautiful arrangements themselves. C'est magnifique!

Monica's sculptural, sensory creations are inspired by the bold colors of her native Brazil and the energetic creativity of Manhattan, as well as her love for the simple moments in life. And while all of her designs are available for same-day delivery in New York, we've asked Monica to share one of her arrangement "recipes" with Merci readers in the spirit of DIY. We cannot wait to take a class and learn more!
Circus Ball Recipe {shown above}

Ingredients:
10 stems of white mini calla lilies
1 bunch of green or yellow hypernicum
1 stem of cymbidium orchids
1 fishbowl {8” diameter}
Method:
Fill the vase with water so that it is a quarter full
Slowly bend each calla so that it fits inside the vase and place it against the inside of the vase with the stem at the bottom and head towards the top {It is very important to bend the callas very slowly, or they will break}.
Repeat step 2 with all ten callas, rotating the vase each time a bit so that the callas are placed all around the vase.
Cut out 3 or 4 cymbidium heads from the stem and place then in the water in the middle of the bowl in between the calla lily stems.
Pick out the berries from the hypernicum branch and throw them in the water so they are floating.
