1- Anna Sui:
Pat McGrath skipped shadow, but applied black cream eyeliner and coats of mascara (to create purposely clumpy lashes). She brushed ballerina pink blush onto the apples of the cheeks, and finished with clear lip balm. Very pretty look and the models were even smiling on the runway!
2-Nanette Lepore:
It was all about adorable, bright colors and aqua eye liner at Nanette Lepore. A peach lip and emphasized under-the-eye eyeliner have been emerging as dominant trends for Spring. 3-TRIAS:
From Spain, Joaquin Trias' Clean and pure architectural pieces ruled the runway with audible gasps of joys coming from the packed house. The makeup was just as graphic with perfectly placed eyeliner that went perfectly with the clothes.
4-Baby Phat:
Dominican and Portuguese model Sessilee Lopez and Mexican model Daniela de Jesus
Thanks Miss Kimora for featuring Latinas in your show!!! MAC makeup artist James Kaliardos, said he was inspired by style icon Talitha Getty in Marrakech during the ‘60s. Her luxurious hippie look, captured in the famous photo of Getty with her husband John Paul atop a Marrakech rooftop, still inspires to this day. But Kaliardos created a much heavier eye for his modern iteration of the Moroccan look. First, M.A.C. eyeshadow in Deep Truth, a true dark blue, was applied all over the lid up to the brow bone and along the lower lash. Then, the upper lash-line was lined with Fluidline eyeliner in Waveline. A violet liner was also applied to the inner corners of the eye. And a dusting of gold pigment along the brow bone completed this very strong cat eye. Foundation and contouring helped achieve flawless, sun-kissed skin, which Kaliardos says is a lot for pale skin to handle but looks fantastic on darker-skinned models. The cheekbones were highlighted by a bit of pink over the bronzer. Lips were covered in glossy pink LipGelee.
5-Oscar de la Renta:
Gorgeous eyeliner to go with the chic braids. Eyebrows were full and drawn in. Mouth was nude. Eyeliner all around the eyes seems to be a huge trend for Spring!6-Marchesa:
Matte skin with a bit of shimmer to highlight the structure of the face was accented by custom created feathered lashes. “We contoured the skin with matte and shimmery textures and added feathers to the eyes to provide dimension to the face,” said lead artist Talia Shobrook for NARS.
7-Calvin Klein:
Glowing! The glossy trend went nuclear at Calvin Klein, with models who looked like they just finished a 5K. For several seasons now, skin has been getting progressively more glistening. It's a lovely substitute if you're tired of cheek color.
Leave it to Ralph Lauren to make his models unbearably pretty. Waterlined eyes with pale pink eye shadow is a simple look that's pretty on anyone. Peach blush applied low, so that it looks more like a suffusion of color than the traditional "apple of the cheeks" look, is PreRaphaelite sensuality at its best. 9- Isaac Mizrahi:
Matte orange-red lips. Face was also matte and left bare.
This concluded NY fashion week and my favorite makeup looks. I'll be posting the highlights soon!
