I had heard about "shadow shields" and had the opportunity to use them on a Beauty video not too long ago. They were actually seen on the video and not too long ago I got an e-mail from their creator Michelle Villanueva, who is also a makeup artist in California.
After using many tricks like powder under the eyes, applying concealer after being done with the eyeshadow, holding a powder puff under eye while applying color,etc,etc,etc These little pads rare a dream come true! Shadow shields are the easiest and cleanest way of doing heavy, smoky eyes and not turning the whole look into a "hot mess!"

I like the fact that you can glue them pretty close up to the lash line so that it becomes really easy to do some beautiful bottom eyeliner looks and keep the whole thing very clean looking. I also think they're awesome for people who don't wear mascara because they get a "racoon" eye after applying it.
And don't be scared of the "glue" it comes off really easy....
