Latina Natural Makeup Look- light skin/brunette

Here's Mexican model Liliana Dominguez, showing how light eyed, brunette latinas can wear the look:

Below is Spanish actress Penelope Cruz in an ad for Loreal.. If you want to add more intensity to my look, you can add a little more eyeliner to the outer corners by blending the eyeliner out like we see here:
Here's a picture of Mexican American teen actress Selena Gomez wearing her version of my "Fresh and Glossy" look. Notice just one eye shadow color and how it brightens her whole face:

Light brunette

“morena clara”

This look works great for Latinas with darker hair but with lighter skin tones. The best way to know if this is you, is if you have the kind of skin that turns red in the sun. Also, if in the winter your skin takes on a “cool” or bluish hue.

This natural look I call “Fresh and Glossy”. To begin, I will share my application instructions. Be sure to check out my product recommendations that follow and feel free to leave any comments on the ones I recommend or share your own recommendations.

FACE:
Start with concealer as needed.
*my tip - apply concealer with your ring finger and make sure you warm it up on the back of your hand before you put it on.

Next, I suggest a light foundation. If it works for you, I really love mineral foundations. (remember, product recommendations to follow…) A lot of Latinas have oily skin and the mineral powders can work wonders. I like to apply it in light layers, concentrate in the areas where you need the most coverage.

EYES:
My favorite look for light skin brunettes is a brown/gold eye shadow. It can brighten up dark eyes by bringing out any amber or hazel tones. On blue or green eyes, the contrast makes them sparkle beautifully.

The key is to look for a color that is slightly darker than your lid color but with more radiance and depth than a matte tone. Once you find the right one you will love it instantly!

Appy the color on the lid and carry it up to the crease. Apply it also along the lower lash line.
*my tip- always apply the color to the outer corners of the eyes first and blend it in. The color will be softer in the inner corners making your eyes brighter!

I like a slightly shimmery shadow for this look but soft matte ones can also work.
Use an eyeliner of your choice. Steel/grey ones are pretty but soft black can work just as well.
And to finish the eyes, apply mascara.

CHEEKS:
A blush that combines a rosy hue with a radiant bronzer is the best way to perk up lighter skin. I love single compacts that combine blush, bronzer and highlighter.
*my tip- sweep the brush across the compact so that all the tones are present on the brush. Turn the brush when applying so that the darker tone goes in the hollow of the cheek while the lighter tone goes on the apple. You are highlighting and contouring in one step. Once you’ve applied it like this take the brush and blend them together for a very natural look.

LIPS:
To find the right color to finish a natural look, imagine the natural color of your lips but slightly intensified. Look for a color that combines pink with a touch of rosy brown.
*my tip-make sure that you don’t try lipstick on the back of your hand but actually on your lips. You want to make sure that the color works where you will apply it.

With this “Fresh and Glossy” look a lip gloss or a sheer creamy lipstick works the best. You might want to use the lipstick for a more professional look and change to the gloss for a fun look.
